What Deal Room is

Africa's infrastructure gap is not a lack of good ideas. It is a lack of prepared ones. The AfCEN Deal Room is where projects are prepared, assessed and introduced to investors.

Sponsors bring projects, and missing documents are drafted for AfCEN to review. AfCEN assesses each project, scoring every criterion against the project's own documents. Cleared investors see a teaser, ask for more, and AfCEN makes the introduction.

The Deal Room is run by the Africa Climate and Energy Nexus in partnership with the West Africa Integration & Investment Summit (WAIIS) 2026. Nexa, AfCEN's matchmaker, suggests who should meet. It works in English and French.

How it works

From first visit to results.

  1. A project comes in

A sponsor submits a project, or AfCEN adds one.

  2. It is prepared

Missing documents are drafted, then reviewed by AfCEN.

  3. It is assessed with evidence

Every score points to the project's own documents.

  4. It meets investors

Cleared investors see the teaser, ask for more, and AfCEN makes the introduction.

  5. It is followed through

AfCEN tracks each meeting and next step on the way to a deal.
